Thank you for shopping with Second Chapter Bookstore. As a mother-daughter duo committed to serving our Buffalo community, we want to ensure you’re completely satisfied with your purchase.

If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, we invite you to review our policy on refunds and returns.

Order Cancellation Rights

You may cancel your order within 14 days without giving any reason, provided it has not already shipped.

Cancellation deadline: 14 days from the date you received your books or a third party you appointed (other than the carrier) took possession of the delivered items.

How to Cancel Your Order

Refund timeline: We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving your returned books. Refunds will be issued using the same payment method you used for your original order, with no additional fees.

Return Conditions

Eligible Returns

For books to qualify for return:

  • Purchased within the last 14 days
  • In original condition and packaging
  • Include all original materials (bookmarks, promotional items, etc.)

Items That Cannot Be Returned

  • Personalized or signed books
  • Gift cards
  • Books damaged by customer or missing materials
  • Event tickets (separate cancellation policy applies)

We reserve the right to refuse returns that don’t meet these conditions.

Shipping Information

Customer responsibility: You cover return shipping costs and assume risk during transit.

Recommended: Use insured, trackable shipping. We cannot issue refunds without receiving returned items or proof of delivery.

Return Process

  1. Email us at info@secondchapterbookstore.com with your order number
  2. Package books securely in original condition
  3. Ship to our Buffalo address using trackable service
  4. Receive refund confirmation within 14 days of our receipt

Gift Returns

Books Marked as Gifts

If your books were purchased as a gift and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit equal to the return value. Your gift certificate will be mailed after we process the return.

Books Not Marked as Gifts

If books weren’t originally marked as gifts, or if the gift giver shipped them to themselves first, we’ll refund the original purchaser.
